Now we are blessed with consistently outstanding and consistently interesting wines from producers both young and old, classic and modern. There's often a huge divide between the old and new, even within small regions, and this is to the drinkers benefit, you could feasibly spend years getting to grips with Serralunga d'Alba (a tiny commune in Barolo) only to find things drastically different in neighbouring Monforte.
