Profile: Mainly planted on the cooler north facing slopes in Piedmont, Dolcetto is a dark skinned variety which ripens easily, and produces soft and pleasant reds of increasingly high quality. Typical Dolcetto wine is intensely and brightly coloured and offers dark, gently spicy aromas with earthy undertones of almonds – or walnuts in more tannic examples.

A traditionalist, Aldo adheres to old-style winemaking methods, such as long barrel ageing in traditional botti.
