Great value, organically produced Shiraz from Australia. Fresh and fruity, with no oak influence and low SO2. A lovely Shiraz showing primary red and black fruits, a medium body and pleasant texture.

Profile: Labelling a wine as Syrah or Shiraz used to be indicative of origin however now tends to refer to style. Wines labelled as Syrah will be in the classic French style, medium bodied, blue fruited and showing lovely peppery spice whereas Shiraz tends to be fuller in body, with riper red and black fruit character indicating a warmer climate - the Australian style. The variety responds very well to oak maturation, adding tannic structure to the fruity frame, allowing for extreme age ability. It is also a very good blending grape, adding richness, fruit and structure.

This is a really cool co-op operation in Australia. They source fruit from quality growing regions and fall under the Yalumba group, one of the biggest and most highly regarded in the Southern Hemisphere so they have access to some top, top winemaking talent too. The focus is on minimal intervention production from organically farmed fruit. Unoaked and picked a bit earlier for freshness, this is full of red and black fruited goodness. This is a great midweek drinker, pizza wine that's low on SO2 and high on drinkability.
