Koehler-Ruprecht, Kallstadter Riesling Kabinett Trocken 2021

Koehler-Ruprecht were making dry wines in the Palatinate before it was cool. Their wines are mineral and rich, and practices are old school – so old school they’ve stuck to the historic practice of adding both the pradikät and trocken designations on their bottles, despite the fact it got them kicked out of the VDP after eighty years of membership. Fermentation is spontaneous and there is zero manipulation in the wine – a delicious combo of ancient ideals and natty practices. Love to see it!
