Calcarius are based in Apricena, Puglia. It is a living, working farm comprising 80 hectares of vines, fruit and vegetables, owner Valentina Passalacqua has been a leader in biodynamic agriculture in Puglia since 2000. Electric colour, with extreme freshness, orange tang and pithy grip. This is a superb orange wine with lovely fruit flavours, herbal edge and savoury length.

Profile: As with Greco, most Falaghina is grown in Southern Italy, where it thrives on the volcanic soils. It typically displays citrus, in particular bitter orange, flavours alongside blossom and floral aromatics and light pine, herbal freshness. Apple and pear flavours can appear in more concentrated examples, alongside lovely minerality and spice.

Calcarius
Calcarius are based in Apricena, in the northern region of Gargano, Puglia. The vineyards are characterised by kimmeridgian calcareous soils (thus Calcarius) and are true wines of terroir - mineral, tense, and uncompromising. Valentina has been the leading exponent of biodynamics in Puglia since 2000. The grape varieties are Nero di Troia, Greco Bianco, Bombino, Negroamaro and Aleatico - largely indigenous to the local area and not widely planted outside of it.
