This tastes like home! Biodynamic Margaret River Cab made under the watch of Patrick Sullivan. Real good!
Wine: CONTINENTAL PLATTER Pot a Cab Sav 2019
Producer: Continental Platter / Patrick Sullivan
Region/Country: Margaret River
Grape/s: Cabernet Sauvignon
Production Method: Biodynamic farming, wild yeast fermentation and maturation in used barrels for 6 months.
Style: The nose is appealing, flaunting pyrazine aromatics of bell pepper and peppercorn and flavours of coffee, bitter chocolate and wood tannin.
Pairing Suggestion: Sunday Roast, or any day roast for that matter
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Profile: The world's most famous and most planted red variety, displaying powerful and distinctive character of cassis and blackcurrant regardless of where it is grown. Deeply coloured and extremely long-lived, Cabernet Sauvignon has extremely small, thick-skinned berries and is a later ripening variety that does particularly well in moderate to warm climates. It does very well with oak, adding cigar box and cedar complexity. Often blended, it is a variety which demands ageing, allowing time for its tannins to soften and austerity to flesh out.
Classic Regions: Bordeaux (France), Napa Valley (USA), Coonawarra, Clare Valley (Australia), Hawkes Bay (New Zealand), Walker Bay (South Africa), Chile and Argentina
Continental Platter is a partnership between Les Caves de Pyrene and our Australian distribution partners, Puncheon Bottles, born from an unrewarding search for big-production, Australian wines that we not only wanted to drink but that were also available for distribution in the local Australian and UK markets. Together with winemaker Patrick Sullivan, we have embarked on a winemaking project with the focus on producing a range of Australian wines from carefully sourced, quality fruit and delivering them to the market at exceptional value.
