Calcarius are based in Apricena, Puglia. It is a living, working farm comprising 80 hectares of vines, fruit and vegetables, owner Valentina Passalacqua has been a leader in biodynamic agriculture in Puglia since 2000. Rosa is Negroamaro, having undergone a short skin maceration prior to fermentation giving it this lurid, coral like colour. Extremely fresh and vibrant with summer fruit and red cherry aromas and flavours.

Calcarius are based in Apricena, in the northern region of Gargano, Puglia. The vineyards are characterised by kimmeridgian calcareous soils (thus Calcarius) and are true wines of terroir - mineral, tense, and uncompromising. Valentina has been the leading exponent of biodynamics in Puglia since 2000. The grape varieties are Nero di Troia, Greco Bianco, Bombino, Negroamaro and Aleatico - largely indigenous to the local area and not widely planted outside of it.
