Château Le Roc, Ambulle VdF Negrette 2021
Fruity and delicious! The blends a bit of a mystery but the end result is bloody tasty! Pure enjoyment on the cards here. It's been described to me as adult Ribena, which probably ticks a lot of boxes. No SO2 used, so it's definitely not for the long haul. Sit back, feet up, glass gone.

Chateau le Roc is located in the Côtes du Frontonnais, close to Toulouse in SW France. This is a really exciting area for wine production, and quality is on the rise. The proximity to Bordeaux has meant a good amount of investment coming in from this wine rich area of France, and as the prices there went astronomical, many looked for better value. It's also a hotbed for the natural wine movement in France, so we find a heap of really interesting fizz coming out, and some pretty wild whites and reds! This is made from Negrette, which is a dark skinned black grape native to the area. Compared to the other grapes from SW France Negrette is really perfumed and silken, with very low tannins which makes it perfect for sparkling production. This is made without any SO2 additions, in the methode ancestrale style, not too dissimilar to Col Fondo above. This really drew me in, the colour is amazing and the nose is suitably wild. I'd suggest drinking this from a normal wine glass so you can really get the aromatics!
