Anne-Laure Grillet and Thomas Agatensi currently head up Domaine de la Bonne Tonne, the 7th generation of winemakers to do so. The estate has been certified organic since 2006 and has been using biodynamic methods since 2007. They have 4 hectares in Morgon, 2 in Regnié, and a sprinkling of Beaujolais Blanc as well. Thomas worked as a solar panel engineer in Switzerland for five years, made a quick pitstop to work for Bret Brothers in the Mâcon, and then settled back in his hometown and took over the reins at Bonne Tonne, taking inspiration from other natural winemakers in the area such as Jean-Louis Dutraive, Paul-Henri Thillardon and Yann Bertrand. The wines are made using indigenous yeasts, with only a small dose of SO2 before bottling.
