Adrien de Mello farms four hectares of vines planted over schist near Anjou in the Loire Valley. Despite the vineyards being organically farmed for sometime, since Adrien arrived he has taken things a step further and has now achieved biodynamic certification. Ploughing is done by horse, and he is passionate about using local foraged plants to treat the vines. Opting for a light touch in the cellar, he favours gentle extractions as this allows for the minerality to shine through from his schist soils. These are fresh, fun, captivating wines which offer a unique reflection of Anjou.
