This is particularly delicious. As the name suggests, fruit from older vine Syrah planted on mountainous sandstone-based vineyards. This gives us naturally restricted yields and all the potential complexity that comes with that. 50% whole bunches. Lots to unpack here, but it does the work for you. Floral and peppery, leading into darker fruits and some meatiness. Textbook. ABV: 13%

Gabriëlskloof is a beautiful wine estate located near the Bot River in the Overberg region east of Cape Town. The vineyards are farmed sustainably with the aim to move to organic farming in the future. These are superb wines made by Peter-Allan Finlayson of Crystallum.
