Montevertine, 'Le Pergole Torte' 2018
2018 was warm, and altitude was key for producing wines of finesse in Tuscany. No issue here. Blockbuster, it's approachable in its youth this vintage, but obvious pedigree to mature nicely.
First released in 1977, 'Le Pergole Torte' was the first 100% Sangiovese wine to be produced in Radda, within Chianti, going against the DOCG regulations which insisted on blending. Old vines, low yields, 24 months maturing in Slavonian and Allier barrels.
