This estate was founded in 1989 by Antonio Sanz and two of his friends, and quickly gained a name for itself thanks to its work with the native Navarran grape variety, Graciano. These days it’s run by the second generation of the Sanz family, two brothers responsible for the creation of the Viña Zorzal range. The family owns 70 hectares of vines, planted to Graciano, Garnacha, Tempranillo, Mazuelo, Merlot and Cab Sauv. Their aim is to preserve the naturally fruity nature of the grapes they work with, so ferment takes place in stainless steel, and the Graciano spends just four short months in old oak.
