Super accessible in '22 showing breadth and oak derived shape yet plenty of trademark cut and thrust as we come to expect from J-D. I'm very around the bitter lemon, pithy kind of extract that keeps all this in check. It's never too much, whilst always offering more than enough, if that makes sense. Value Burgundy that you can splash around any table. ABV: 13.5%

Continuing a family tradition which dates back to the 16th century, Hélène Jaeger-Defaix is the current custodian of the domaine’s premier cru and village vineyards in Rully, (Côte Chalonnaise, southern Burgundy). She farms organically with minimal use of sprays and, wherever possible, uses no sulphur or copper at all. Slow, gentle pressing ensures top quality juice and aging in 1-5 year old barrels adds complexity and smooths things out. The resulting wines are very pure, vibrant expressions of red Burgundy - and unusually for this region, very good value. Très bien!
